Learn how to create a bowl for all your ramen-munching needs! Add texture to the bottom to grate fresh garlic or ginger for your broth, add a pocket to store chili oil, or anything else you can think of to elevate your eating experience. You will even have time to create a couple sauce dishes and a chopstick rest during this workshop to complement your new custom bowl. All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees, so bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way! In this class you’ll learn: ~ Rolling and cutting slabs ~ Basic pinch method ~ Surface finishing ~ Optimizing functionality of your piece After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a 1.5 hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you have made. Alternatively, you may choose a single colour that we will glaze for you. After glazing, the piece will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. The sooner you come back to glaze, the sooner you will have your pieces! We will always contact you for pickup. Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach a basic technique of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay!
