Details

It's officially harvest season! August 1st just marked the beginning of Lughnasadh and this period will last until the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd this year! While we are all harvesting what we've sown this year, let's celebrate and make something out of it? Using the slab technique of hand building and our templates, in three hours you will have created a fully customized bread pan! Use your imagination and decorate it to your heart's content; it may be so lovely that it will become a new heirloom... In this workshop you will learn: - How to roll out and cut a clay slab - How to use templates - How to attach clay pieces - Surface decoration - Smoothing and finishing techniques After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a one-hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you’ve made. Alternatively, you may choose a single color that we will glaze for you. After glazing the piece will be glaze fired and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. We will always contact you for pickup.
