A tree to decorate is a forever staple in Christmas celebrations and it simply wouldn’t be the same without one! In this workshop, create the perfect layered trees to add a bit of eccentricity to your holiday décor. In two hours, you will learn to create one large or a couple small trees, depending on complexity, that are layered to re-create the natural shape of a Christmas tree. Cut holes to put a tealight underneath and let it glimmer or keep it whole as a simple addition to any classic décor. This workshop has been scheduled to be able to have your pieces finished and home in time for the holidays. We have many ways to create textures and patterns to add dimension to your layered trees. If you have patterns or textures that you would like to use, please feel free to bring them into the studio during your workshop to add that extra bit of personalization. Create the pieces that are in your mind-palace and be proud of your newly hand-crafted trees this holiday season! In this workshop you will learn: • How to roll out a clay slab • How to build clay upon itself over a cone form • How to seamlessly blend clay together • Surface finishing After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a one-hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you’ve made. Alternatively, you may choose a single color that we will glaze for you. After glazing, the piece will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. The sooner you come back to glaze, the sooner you will have your pieces! We will always contact you for pickup.
