Everyone has a creature that speaks to them! Whether it be your family pet, an animal that roams wild, or a mythical beast, join us to make a miniature version. Use your new figure as a desk pet, to hangout on your dashboard, plant buddy, or simply as a loving reminder. All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees. Bring your best ideas and your patient instructor, Ray, will help you along every step of the way. In this workshop you will learn how to: ~ Pinch small, hand-sized figures from clay ~ Create and attach animal features ~ Decorate using stamps, textures and glazes ~ Finish surfaces to minimize unwanted harsh edges Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach the basics of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay! This is a great introduction to pottery without making a multi-week commitment. All discovery classes are adaptable for beginners or those with more advanced skills and experience. After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a one-hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you’ve made. Alternatively, you may choose a single color that we will glaze for you. After glazing the piece will be glaze fired and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. We will always contact you for pickup.
