*TLDR: This course is novice-friendly but also adaptable for those with some clay experience — offering space to learn from the very beginning or refresh existing skills and get personalized guidance to keep growing. Whether you're just starting or returning to the studio, you’ll leave with finished pieces, foundational techniques, and the confidence to keep creating. Longer Description: This course is designed with true beginners in mind — even if you’ve never touched clay before. We provide everything you need, from tools and materials to step-by-step guidance. By the end, you’ll have a small collection of personal or functional pieces (up to 9" tall), usually 4–6 works depending on your style, scale, and pace. That said, if you’ve worked with clay before, you’re absolutely welcome. The class is flexible and supportive of all levels — a great space to refresh your skills, deepen your understanding, and get more tailored advice on how to refine your techniques. Our aim is to help you feel at home in the studio. That’s why we include a guided mock Open Studio session — a relaxed opportunity to explore working more independently, with support nearby. It’s a great way to build confidence and get a feel for continuing your practice beyond the course. You’re welcome to bring your own ideas or simply see where the clay takes you. With over a hundred glaze options, you’ll finish your work in a way that reflects your own taste and creative energy. Along the way, you’ll pick up essential building and glazing techniques that will lay the groundwork for your ongoing journey with clay. When the course is complete, you’re encouraged to keep creating with us during Open Studio hours, using the tools and space as you continue your journey deeper into the vast world of clay.
