Create your very own vessel in the shape of your favourite creature! If it's got a head and a tail, you can make it in this workshop! In three hours your hand-built ceramic vessel will come to LIFE with enough time to get all of your details, textures and personality into your piece. Take inspiration from our examples of different shapes for your new ceramic Extend-o-Pet; weenie dogs, selkies, seals, rabbits, anything! The options are endless! We've transformed our example into succulent storage, a propagation puppy, and even stationery support! Bring your best ideas to decorate your new creature and your patient instructor, Luna, will be by your side every step of the way to help! In this workshop you will learn: ~ How to construct a long animal using the pinch technique ~ Creating animal features to attach ~ Decorating and finishing techniques Project Examples: ~ Anything with a head and tail Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach the basics of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay! This is a great introduction to pottery without making a multi-week commitment. All discovery classes are adaptable for beginners or those with more advanced skills and experience. After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a one-hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you’ve made. Alternatively, you may choose a single color that we will glaze for you. After glazing the piece will be glaze fired and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. We will always contact you for pickup.
