Prepare for a workshop of creating tiny, tiny, things… We all know the “traditional” Christmas village with light-up houses, ice skating rinks, and train tracks. What if we took that village and shrunk it down? That’s what we will be creating in this workshop! A sweet, miniature village that will keep you company during the holiday season. Whether you like it or not, the tiny houses and trees will charm the socks off you! You have the choice of cementing your tiny creations onto a base or keep them loose to move them around as you please. This workshop has been scheduled to be able to have your pieces finished and home in time for the holidays. Then come back to decorate your new Mini Village with over 100 colour choices. All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees, so bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way! In this workshop you will learn how to: ~ Pinch clay into small shapes ~ Decorate with stamps, carving, and glazes ~ Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas After this workshop your piece(s) will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a 1.5 hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece(s) you have made. Alternatively, you may choose a single colour that we will glaze for you. After glazing, the piece(s) will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect them to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. The sooner you come back to glaze, the sooner you can take them home to enjoy! We will always contact you for pickup. Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach a basic technique of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay! This is a great introduction to pottery without making a multi-week commitment.
