Details
Trinket dishes are small but powerful keepers of meaning, perfect for holding your favorite jewelry, tiny treasures, or other bits of beauty that gather in daily life. In this workshop, you will learn to shape, smooth, and decorate your own clay dishes, each one becoming a reflection of your spirit and creativity. As the holidays approach, these dishes make thoughtful gifts or gentle additions to your own home. They are small celebrations of creativity, intention, and the quiet magic of holding and organizing the little treasures that make life joyful. Join us to create your own set of tiny, meaningful treasures that glow with handmade charm. You can copy and paste this link into your browser to check out our Pinterest page for even more trinket dish inspiration: (https://ca.pinterest.com/eccentricartiststudio/class-inspo/trinket-dishes/) Begin your workshop by choosing from our three different colours of clay; white, speckled buff, or our seasonal feature clay. Then come back to decorate your new Trinket Dishes with over 100 colour choices. All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees, so bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way! In this workshop you will learn how to: ~ Roll out a clay slab ~ Use a slump-mould to create a form ~ Decorate with stamps, carving, and glazes ~ Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas ~ Optimize the functionality of your piece Project Examples Include: ~ Jewellery Dishes ~ Tooth Fairy Dish ~ Front Door Catch-All ~ Mise En Place Dishes After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a 1.5 hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you have made. Alternatively, you may choose a single colour that we will glaze for you. After glazing, the piece will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. The sooner you come back to glaze, the sooner you will have your pieces! We will always contact you for pickup. Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach a basic technique of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay! This is a great introduction to pottery without making a multi-week commitment.
