Being in Esquimalt, so close to the ocean, it’s hard not to have it on your mind! Take the beauty and mystery of the sea as an inspiration to create your own magical sea-life themed dishes for your home or as a thoughtful gift. There is no specific project that you must create during this workshop, so go crazy with inspiration! Decorate your sea life as a beautiful complement to your home with our over 100 colour choices. All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees. Bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way! In this workshop you will learn: ~ How to create a pinch pot ~ Surface finishing techniques ~ Creating small sea life features from clay ~ Decorating with stamps, slip, texture tools and glazes After this workshop your piece will be bisque fired and then you can return to glaze the piece during one of our "Glazing 101" workshops which is included in the cost of your class! It is a 1.5 hour intro to glazing that will teach you how to glaze the piece you have made. Alternatively, you may choose a single colour that we will glaze for you. After glazing, the piece will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. The sooner you come back to glaze, the sooner you will have your pieces! We will always contact you for pickup. Our clay discovery classes have been curated to teach a basic technique of hand building. You will be amazed with what you can make with just your hands and some clay!
