BEGINER FRIENDLY! PERFECT IF YOU HAVE NEVER TOUCHED CLAY BEFORE. This is a relaxed, 3-hour hands-on experience where you’ll leave with something unique and entirely your own. All materials provided. Small class size (8 students) and patient instructors. As part of our Wheel of the Year themed classes, we offer this workshop for people wanting to add natural sound to their rituals. PART 1 - Weathered stones, shaped smooth by waves and time, carry the quiet memory of the shoreline. In this workshop, you'll use one of these natural treasures as a guide, forming clay around its beautifully organic shape before releasing it and joining the two halves into a hollow rattle. Hidden within, small clay pebbles will give your piece its own earthy voice. Keep your form simple or carve it with seasonal symbols, protective markings, or personal intentions that honour where you are in the turning of the year. Shaped with the help of nature and finished by your own hands, each Earthsong Rattle becomes a reminder that transformation often begins with something borrowed before finding its own voice. In this workshop you will learn how to: - Roll out a clay slab - Use a slump-mold to create a form - Join the two halves to create a closed form - Decorate with stamps, carving, and glazes - Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas PART 2 - GLAZING: After your workshop, return for a glazing session (included). Your finished piece will be ready in 2–3 weeks.
