BEGINNER FRIENDLY! LIMITED EVENT! REGISTER EARLY! ONLY 8 SPACES AVAILABLE! Have you seen the Frozen Pond Glazing technique on Pinterest? We are teaching it in the glazing portion of this class. This is a limited event and this glazing technique is not approved for everyday use in the studio due to the uncontrolled dripping that can occur on vertical services. This workshop allows students (even first-timers!) to use our pre-approved glaze combinations to achieve spectacular, dimensional results on the surface of their piece. This is a TWO PART CLASS and if you miss the glazing day, you cannot reschedule. PART 1 - Come and make a simple plate that can be a ring dish, an incense holder or leave as just a plate Begin your workshop by choosing from our three different colours of clay; white, speckled buff, or our seasonal feature clay. In this workshop you will learn how to: ~ Roll out a clay slab ~ Slump your slab into a plate mould ~ Make additions to turn the plate into a ring dish or incense holder ~ Decorate with glazes ~ Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas PART 2 - Then when you come back to glaze, we will have step by step instructions and 4 glaze colour combinations to choose from to learn the FROZEN POND Technique! There are 4 exclusive combos created for this workshop and this workshop ONLY! It is a 1.5 hour class to teach you how to glaze the piece(s) you have made with this SPECIFIC technique. The glazing class will be in two weeks on Sat May 23 at 2:30-4:30pm All materials and instruction are always included in our workshop fees, so bring your best ideas and your patient instructor will help you along every step of the way! After glazing, the piece(s) will be fired in our kiln, and you can expect them to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed.
