BEGINNER FRIENDLY BUT NOT BEGINNER ONLY! EVERYONE WILL LEARN SOMETHING AND HAVE SOME FUN. This is a relaxed, 2-hour hands-on experience where you’ll leave with something unique and entirely your own. All materials provided. Small class size (8 people) and patient instructors. Carve a unique design into a plate made of fresh clay, holiday-themed or not! The sgraffito technique is an impactful way of illustrating on clay with high contrast. Depending on your skill level and design choice, you may be able to create two medium sized (15cm) plates or two to three graduated plates (one each of 18 cm, 15 cm and 10 cm) in this workshop. You are welcome to print a design to copy onto your piece or show off your creativity with an original design! In this workshop you will learn: ~ Rolling out clay slabs ~ Surface finishing techniques ~ Carving a design into wet clay ~ Finish surfaces to minimize sharp areas Your pieces will be ready for pick up 2 - 3 weeks after the class.
