If you are an workshop student, please refer to our "Workshop Glazing" service.
Once you have completed a single Glazing 101 session to learn our in-studio glazing policies, you are then welcome to book glazing time in Open Studio. You can look forward to a 1.5 hour “intro to glazing” that will teach you how to glaze the piece(s) you’ve made. We will begin with 30 minutes of instruction and then transition into a full hour for you to apply what you've just learned to your piece(s). If you get really into your glazing and find that you need more time, you are welcome to stay after this scheduled workshop for Open Studio time that will be charged in 15-minute increments with no one-hour minimum.
After glazing, the piece will be glaze fired and you can expect your piece to be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after you have glazed. We will always contact you via email for pickup.
In this workshop you will learn:
- General rules of thumb in glazing
- Our studio policies regarding glazing
- Ideal glaze application
- Food safety in glazes
Needed materials:
- Two (2) pieces of your own greenware or bisqueware to glaze
