BEGINER FRIENDLY! PERFECT IF YOU HAVE NEVER TOUCHED CLAY BEFORE. This is a relaxed, 3 hour hands-on experience where you’ll leave with something unique and entirely your own. All materials provided. Small class size (8 students) and patient instructors. PART 1 - Every good gathering deserves a small centerpiece of mischief, and this one begins with a spiral that gently unfurls into a bowl made for sharing. In this handbuilding workshop, you'll shape clay into a serving piece that cradles both chips and dip in one delightfully clever form. Add textures, markings, and decorative flourishes that make the piece feel as though it has its own story to tell. Along the way, you'll learn approachable clay techniques suitable for beginners and seasoned makers alike. Once fired and finished, your Gathering Spiral will be ready to preside over snack tables, celebrations, and all manner of delicious conspiracies. In this class you will learn how to: - Roll out and cut clay slabs - Form a flat slab of clay into a 3 dimensional spiral bowl - Optimizing functionality of your piece - Decorating with stamps, textures and glazes - Surface finishing to smooth rough edges PART 2 - GLAZING: After your workshop, return for a glazing session (included). Your finished piece will be ready in 2–3 weeks.
